Cookie policy

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on opcionrural.com. It supplements our privacy policy.
What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device so it can remember things about you between visits. Cookies are used for very ordinary purposes — like keeping you signed in or remembering which page you were on — and also for advertising and analytics.
How we group cookies
We split cookies into three tiers, in line with EU and UK guidance:
Tier 1 — Strictly necessary
These cookies are required for the site to work and cannot be turned off through our consent banner. They store no personal data, do not track you across sites, and are not used for advertising.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
opcionrural_consent_v1 | Remembers your choice in the cookie banner so we do not re-prompt on every page. | 12 months | opcionrural.com (first party) |
Tier 2 — Analytics
None active at this time. If we ever add an analytics tool, we will list each named cookie here and request consent before setting any of them.
Tier 3 — Advertising
These cookies are set by Google AdSense and its DoubleClick advertising service after you accept advertising cookies in the consent banner. They are used to choose and measure the ads you see. If you decline advertising cookies, Google is instructed to serve only non-personalised ads, which are based on the page content rather than your browsing history.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
__gads | Measures ad interactions and limits how often you see the same ad. | Up to 13 months | Google (first-party on opcionrural.com) |
__gpi | Supports Google Publisher Tag delivery decisions. | Up to 13 months | |
IDE | Used by doubleclick.net for ad measurement and personalisation. | Up to 13 months | Google / DoubleClick |
NID | Stores Google service preferences such as language and ad personalisation. | Up to 6 months | |
DSID | Links activity across devices for users signed into a Google account. | Up to 14 days | |
test_cookie | Checks whether your browser supports cookies. | 15 minutes | Google / DoubleClick |
How we record your consent
For European, United Kingdom, and California visitors, we request explicit opt-in consent before any advertising or non-essential cookies are set. Your choice is currently stored locally on your device in a small first-party record (the opcionrural_consent_v1 entry described in the table above) so we do not re-prompt you on every page. If you decline advertising cookies, Google AdSense is instructed to serve only non-personalised ads. To change your choice, clear the opcionrural_consent_v1 record from this site in your browser's settings and reload any page; the banner will reappear and let you pick again. We are evaluating an IAB-registered Consent Management Platform (such as Google's Funding Choices) for fuller TCF v2.3 signalling as the site grows; this page will be updated when that transition happens.
Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we honour that as an opt-out of the sale and sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising under CCPA/CPRA.
Managing cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their Settings menu. Steps differ between browsers, but the major options are documented here:
- Chrome — manage cookies
- Safari (iPhone / iPad) — manage cookies
- Microsoft Edge — privacy settings
- Firefox — cookies
Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will not break opcionrural.com, but you will see the cookie banner on every page until you accept.
